- I am using xwin over a trumpet winsock and a 38.4 SLIP connection.
- emacs 18 works fine, but emacs 19 quits with a hangup error after it
- gets too many instructions (i.e. if I type fast or clickthe moouse
- while it is processing some keystroke) This only happens over SLIP;
- using a slow ethernet connection emacs 19 works reliably.
-
- If you have this error, please resopnd by email or post. (I will
- summarize if many others have this error).
-
- Thanks you, sincerely

- Acutally, there were actually two different read-me files included with the
- demo package at different times - the first had keys in it so that the
- software was due to expire sometime in August, and the second was due to
- expire sometime in April.

- Your packet driver needs to be the shim dis_pkt.dos, and it needs to be
- loaded by W4WG (not config.sys) as a real mode driver. The slickest way
- to accomplish this is to download the file "faq-wfwg-3.11-2" in the
- directory "pub/trumpet/faq" on the anonymous ftp "petros.psychol.utas.edu.au".
- This contains an oemsetup.inf which lets W4WG do ALL the work of loading
- and unloading for you. I am working on some modifications to this that
- will make changing interrupt vectors a part of the standard W4WG setup
- options dialogue... For the time being, however, B. Armstrong's oemsetup.inf
- is the easiest way I know of to install Trumpet Winsock. Hopefully, Peter
- Tattam will consider including some version of it in his distribution.
- When I have my own changes in final form, I'll forward tham to him and
- B. Armstrong for posting.

- Try KA9Q from Demon Internet Service (ftp.demon.co.uk). I think you
- should look in the /pub/ibmpc/DIS directory.
-
- I have the software here so can mail if you have no success with ftp.
